Roles of Members:

 

Policy Formulation: NCI-PNF members participate in the formulation of nutrition policies at the national level. They contribute their expertise to develop strategies aimed at addressing various nutrition-related challenges faced by the population. Guideline Development: Members are involved in developing guidelines and recommendations for nutrition interventions, diet plans, and nutritional standards. These guidelines serve as a reference for healthcare professionals, policymakers, and the public.

 

Advocacy: NCI members advocate for nutrition awareness, education, and action. They work to raise awareness about the importance of good nutrition and its impact on public health, encouraging individuals, communities, and governments to prioritize nutrition-related initiatives.

 

Research and Evaluation: Members may conduct or support research on nutrition-related topics, including dietary patterns, nutritional deficiencies, and the effectiveness of interventions. They also evaluate existing programs and policies to assess their impact and identify areas for improvement. Capacity Building: NCI members contribute to capacity-building efforts by providing training, resources, and technical assistance to healthcare professionals, educators, and community leaders. Membership Fees: Rs 2000/- Only  ( 3 years )

Eligibility : 

Prospective members need to review the specific eligibility criteria outlined by the NCI and ensure that they meet the requirements for their desired membership category. Additionally, applicants may need to provide documentation or evidence of their qualifications, expertise, or commitment to nutrition-related goals as part of the membership application process.

  • Professionals working in nutrition, dietetics, public health, medicine, food science, or related fields.

  • Researchers, academics, educators, and students with a focus on nutrition or related disciplines.

  • Advocates, policymakers, and individuals committed to promoting nutrition awareness and public health initiatives.​

Membership Terms and Conditions

​

  1. Eligibility: Membership in the Nutrition Council of India (NCI)  Professional Network is open to individuals with an interest or expertise in nutrition-related fields. The NCI's governing body shall determine membership eligibility.

  2. Application Process: Prospective members must complete and submit a membership application form provided by the NCI. The application shall include accurate and up-to-date information about the applicant's qualifications, experience, and interest in nutrition.

  3. Membership Dues: Members must pay fees as determined by the NCI's governing body. Membership dues shall be paid in full upon acceptance of the membership application and are subject to periodic review and adjustment by the organization.

  4. Privileges: Members of the NCI shall enjoy certain rights and privileges, including but not limited to:​

    • Access to resources, publications, and educational materials provided by the NCI.

    • Discounts on events, conferences, workshops, and other services the organization offers.

    • Opportunities for professional development, networking, and collaboration within the nutrition community.

  5. Code of Conduct: Members are expected to adhere to a code of conduct that upholds the values of professionalism, integrity, respect, and collaboration. Members shall conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the objectives and mission of the NCI and shall refrain from any behavior that may harm the reputation or interests of the organization.

  6. Term of Membership: Membership in the NCI shall be granted for a period of 3 years from the date of acceptance of the membership application. Membership may be renewed after 3 years upon payment of dues and compliance with membership requirements.

  7. Termination of Membership: The NCI reserves the right to terminate or suspend membership in cases of non-payment of dues, violation of the organization's code of conduct, or other reasons deemed appropriate by the governing body. Termination of membership shall be communicated to the member in writing with reasons provided.

  8. Governing Documents: Members shall abide by the NCI's governing documents, including its bylaws, policies, and procedures, which govern the operation and management of the organization. Members shall familiarize themselves with these documents and comply with their provisions.

  9. Benefits and Services: The NCI shall provide various benefits and services to its members, including access to educational resources, networking opportunities, advocacy support, and professional development initiatives. The organization reserves the right to modify or discontinue benefits and services at its discretion.

By applying for membership in the Nutrition Council of India, applicants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
