The Nutrition Council of India (NCI) considers academic and institutional collaborations to be integral to advancing research, education, innovation, and evidence-based public health practice. Through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and strategic partnerships, NCI collaborates with universities, research institutions, healthcare organizations, government agencies, professional societies, industry, and international organizations to promote interdisciplinary cooperation in nutrition, food science, medicine, and public health.
These collaborations facilitate joint research, academic exchange, capacity building, scientific publications, professional training, and community-based initiatives, while fostering the translation of research into policy and practice.

Doon Medical College
The Nutrition Council of India (NCI) and Government Doon Medical College, Dehradun, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 21 February 2026 to promote academic excellence, collaborative research, professional training, and capacity building in the fields of nutrition, medicine, and public health. This partnership aims to strengthen interdisciplinary research, facilitate knowledge exchange, support scientific publications, and develop joint educational and community health initiatives, contributing to evidence-based healthcare and improved public health outcomes.
Era University
The Nutrition Council of India (NCI) and Era University, Lucknow, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 21 February 2026 to foster academic collaboration and promote excellence in education, research, and innovation. The partnership is aimed at facilitating multidisciplinary research, faculty and student engagement, scientific publications, capacity-building programmes, and knowledge exchange in the fields of nutrition, medicine, allied health sciences, and public health. Through this collaboration, both institutions seek to strengthen evidence-based research and contribute to improved nutrition, healthcare, academic advancement, and societal well-being.

SRM University

On 30 April 2026, the Nutrition Council of India (NCI) and Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University (SRMU), Barabanki, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in food safety, nutrition, public health, food science and technology, and allied health sciences. The partnership focuses on conducting joint research, workshops, seminars, faculty development programmes, student training, food safety awareness campaigns and community-based food safety drives involving students. It also promotes scientific publications, capacity-building initiatives, innovation, and outreach activities aimed at enhancing food safety practices, nutrition awareness, and public health through evidence-based education and research.
Indian Society of Chronomedicine
On 12 April 2026, the Nutrition Council of India (NCI), in collaboration with the Indian Society of Chronomedicine, established the Centre for Chronomedicine and Chrononutrition as a pioneering public health initiative. The Centre is dedicated to advancing research, education, and clinical applications in chronobiology, chronomedicine, and chrononutrition. It will continue to promote interdisciplinary research, circadian health screening, professional training, workshops, scientific meetings, public awareness programmes, and evidence-based interventions for the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases. Through this collaboration, the Centre aims to serve as a national platform for advancing chronobiology and translating circadian science into clinical practice and public health.

International Society For Medical Food and Nutrition

The Nutrition Council of India (NCI), in collaboration with the International Society for Medical Food and Nutrition (ISMN), is committed to advancing the science and practice of medical foods through research, education, and innovation. A key focus of this collaboration is the establishment and development of the Medical Food Registry, a pioneering initiative to systematically document, evaluate, and promote evidence-based medical food products and clinical applications. The collaboration will also support joint research projects, scientific publications, professional training, workshops, consensus development, and policy advocacy to strengthen the integration of medical foods into clinical nutrition and healthcare, while fostering innovation and improving patient outcomes.
Food and Biosciences Research Lab
The Nutrition Council of India (NCI), in collaboration with the Food and Biosciences Research Laboratory (FBRL), is committed to advancing research, education, innovation, and public health in the fields of food safety, nutrition, and food sciences. The collaboration encompasses food quality and safety testing, nutritional, microbiological, and analytical testing services, collaborative research, laboratory-based training, workshops, technical skill development, food safety surveys, and scientific consultancy. The partnership also supports NCI's public health initiatives, including community screening and testing programmes, the RHYTHMS Centre for Chronomedicine & Chrononutrition, nutrition surveillance, and evidence-based health promotion activities. Through joint academic programmes, scientific publications, product evaluation, and community outreach, NCI and FBRL aim to strengthen laboratory excellence, promote food safety, foster innovation, and improve nutrition and public health outcomes.
