Lucknow, July 13, 2025 — The Nutrition Council of India (NCI) has launched a powerful new initiative aimed at transforming India’s health landscape, beginning with the establishment of 38 Health & Nutrition Centers across Uttar Pradesh. These centers mark the first phase in a national plan to set up over 150 Centers for Health & Nutrition (CHN) across India within the next five years. These centers—already operational in regions including Lucknow, Meerut, and nearby rural belts—aim to offer a wide range of services that bridge the gaps between healthcare, nutrition awareness, food safety, and agricultural sustainability.


“We are not just opening centers; we are building a grassroots health intelligence system,” said Dr. Kshitij Bhardwaj, Chairman of NCI and a pioneer in medical food and nutritional science.

🏥 Services Offered at Each Center:

Free health and nutrition screening camps


Nutrition and lifestyle guidance


Telemedicine OPD and digital health records


Food adulteration testing and farm safety checks


Ayushman Bharat & life insurance assistance


AI-supported tools for rapid community health surveys


Each center is expected to serve 1,500+ individuals monthly and conduct outreach in remote villages, schools, and agricultural zones.


🌐 National Expansion Underway:

The initial launch in UP is part of a broader effort to establish nutrition intelligence hubs in every major state. These centers also function as:


Training centers for nutritionists and healthcare workers

Field laboratories for food quality testing

Community health surveillance and public policy implementation zones
